Blurs and Inversions

I am continually playing with techniques of blur and inversion, at least as starting points in art work. Blurs -- especially through intentional camera movement in the act of capture -- have a way of creating new shapes within the obvious existing ones. Color can deepen, or can change through "mixing" with nearby colors. Tonal inversion also opens fascinating possibilities. As I mention with the Flow series, I like this observation of photographer Wynn Bullock: “A positive image that makes a plain object appear static can in a negative image make the same objects appear dynamic and full of motion.”
